SUPERVISES:

There are no direct reports with this position.

 

 

POSITION SUMMARY:   

Under general supervision, the Employment Specialist is responsible for employment services provided by PRIDE, which includes providing evaluation of the client, job skills, client support and documentation, and individual vocational planning and placement, job development, and post-employment support services. This job requires knowledge of case management, resources available to individuals with disabilities throughout the community, and the ability to determine and coordinate the necessary services and development plans for each client.

 

 

TYPICAL DUTIES:  

1.*Complete vocational assessment reports, which summarize history, findings, and provides recommendations for vocational goals, monitor plan and adjust as needed.

2. *Maintain and track client services through monthly and quarterly case notes, support plans and vocational assessments.

3. *Provide ongoing, comprehensive case management, enter activities, monitor service dates and extend or close activities as required.

4. *Monitor client progress, identify and provide support including job coaching. Staff regularly with Supervisor and referral agency staff.

5. *Refer eligible clients to appropriate community resources as needed (i.e. legal services, community events and support group).

6. *Develops, delivers and evaluates a variety of employment readiness trainings for clients.

7. *Conduct group presentations regarding job readiness and other employment related topics.

8. *Develop and maintain engagement with employers to support client employment opportunities.

9. *Provide job development activities to assist clients in employment goals.

10. *Submit regular status reports to Program Manager to include clients served, service delivered and outreach activities with a status toward objectives.

11. *Participate in staff meetings, staff development, trainings and community outreach activities.

12. *Submit timely and accurate reports. 13. Performs other duties and special projects as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 

•Three or more years of experience in case management, social services, or a related field;

•CPR and First Aid Certifications a plus;

•Previously demonstrated experience working in the field of employment services, working with persons with significant barriers or working with persons from diverse backgrounds preferred;

•Clear understanding and judgment with regard to protecting strictly confidential information;

•Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; to make presentations and respond to inquiries by management, team, vendors and/or customers;

•Human relation skills to build effective relationships with team and internal customers;

•Intermediate to advanced computer literacy including knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, database and presentation software;

•Knowledge of business English including vocabulary, spelling, and correct grammatical usage and punctuation;

•Mathematical skills to include the ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations;

•Ability to establish priorities and solve a wide range of business problems;

•Demonstrated customer service, common sense, problem solving and analytical skills;

•Flexibility to respond to changing work priorities and handle numerous projects at the same time.

 

 

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: 

Bachelors Human Resources or related field
A comparable combination of formal education and work experience will be considered. 

 

 

CERTIFICATES REQUIRED:  

The following licenses or certificates may be required depending on local, state and/or contract requirements:
CPR/First Aid
Valid Driver's License

 

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:  

Employees must have the ability to perform the following physical demands for extended periods with or without assistance:

•Maneuvering to and around equipment

•Bending, kneeling, stooping, and reaching

•Viewing computer screens

•Utilizing keyboard

 

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT:  

Work is performed in a work office or public environment with low to moderate noise.
