POSITION SUMMARY:   
Under minimal supervision, the Fleet and Equipment Manager is responsible for ensuring full compliance and registration for all motor vehicles, capital equipment and related operations within PRIDE, implementation and oversight of the maintenance, programs, vehicle and equipment disposal and remarketing as well as registrations, insurance and certifications. Employees in this job class are also responsible for monitoring, fleet and equipment activity and preparation of vehicle, equipment and/or driver audits. This job class requires knowledge of federal, state and local regulations. 
 
TYPICAL DUTIES:  
1. *Manage fleet, equipment and maintenance activities within assigned areas.
2. *Monitor costs, training and safety standards.
3. *Audit inventories and track activity to meet business needs.
4. *Oversight of vehicle and equipment reliability and preventative maintenance.
5. *Create or update policy for inspections, registrations and insurance coverage.
6. *Conduct fleet and equipment evaluations and maintain the quality program.
7. *Manage CAPEX requests, quotes, bids and usage requests.
8. *Prepares specifications and purchase orders to acquire large equipment.
9. *Maintain DOT and CHP regulatory compliance documentation.
10. *Provide timely response to business unit requests for support – insurance cards, registration documents, lost fuel cards, PIN assignments.
11. *Provide accident data analysis and recommend improvement plans.
12. *Ensure capital equipment requisitions meet corporate guidelines.
13. *Advise departments of regulations and record keeping requirements.
14. *Manage effective utilization of assets.
15. *Provide vendor and purchasing expertise and budget oversight.
16. *Identify sourcing opportunities for capital equipment.
17. *Manage vendor relationships for capital equipment sourcing.
18. *Negotiate contracts for capital equipment acquisition.
19. *Oversee acquisition processes and ensure compliance with procurement policies.
20. *Stays abreast of trends, best practices, and technologies for continuous improvement.
21. Performs other duties and special projects as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 
• Five or more years of progressively responsible experience in fleet management;
• Previous experience with commercial vehicles and DOT and CHP compliance;
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; to make presentations and respond to inquiries by management, team, vendors and/or customers;
• Human relation skills to build effective relationships with team and internal customers;
• Advanced computer literacy and proficiency with Microsoft desktop applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams);
• Demonstrated knowledge and utilization of reporting and visualization databases such as Power BI and/or Tableau preferred;
• Knowledge of business English including vocabulary, spelling, and correct grammatical usage and punctuation;
• Mathematical skills to include the ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations;
• Ability to establish priorities and solve a wide range of business problems;
• Knowledge of LEAN and continuous improvement methodologies and applications, preferred;
• Demonstrated customer service, common sense, problem solving and analytical skills;
• Flexibility to respond to changing work priorities and handle numerous projects at the same time.
 
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: 
 Bachelors Business Administration or related field
A comparable combination of formal education and work experience will be considered.
 
CERTIFICATES OR LICENSES REQUIRED:  
The following licenses or certificates may be required depending on local, state and/or contract requirements:
Valid Driver's License
 
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:  
Employees must have the ability to perform the following physical demands for extended periods of
time with or without assistance:
 
• Accessing and interacting with digital content, including computer screens or monitors, using visual displays, screen readers, magnification tools, or other assistive technologies.
• Inputting and navigating information through keyboards, adaptive devices, voice recognition software, or other accessible input methods.
• Communicating with others via phone or alternative methods such as text relay services, video calls with captioning or American Sign Language (ASL), or speech-to-text messaging tools.
• Occasional driving as needed
 
WORK ENVIRONMENT:  
Work is performed in a normal office environment with limited privacy and some exposure to background noise. Occasional travel is required. Employees may be required to work in excess of 8 hours in a day and/or 40 hours per week.
