SUPERVISES: 

There are no direct reports with this position.

 

 

POSITION SUMMARY:   

Under general supervision. The Maintenance Scheduler schedules vehicle repairs and lubrication for vehicle-maintenance, schedules vehicles for lubrication or repairs based on date of last lubrication and mileage traveled or urgency of repairs.

 

 

TYPICAL DUTIES:  

1. * Schedules vehicle repairs and lubrication for vehicle maintenance.

2. * Schedules vehicle safety inspections.

3. * Drives vehicles to repair shop for service and maintenance.

4. * Inspects vehicles and equipment upon issue and return.

5. * Maintains Issuance of keys, record sheets, and driver credentials.

6. * Issues equipment to drivers (such as vehicles and elevated work platforms).

7. * Informs supervisors of scheduled repairs or maintenance.

8. * Assists loading elevated platforms onto transporter.

9. Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 

- Two or more years of prior work experience in a transportation environment;

- Ability to follow direction, structured processes, and procedures;

- Ability to communicate effectively to provide information, complete daily records, and to act responsively to inquiries and requests from vendors, customers, management, and to escalate matters appropriately;

- Ability to manage and accurately track data, and adapt to changing work priorities;

- Excellent customer service and problem-solving skills, including ability to exercise independent judgment;

- Computer literacy including knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database software;

- Demonstrated organizational, problem-solving and common-sense skills with an attention to detail;

- Flexibility for responding to competing demands and continually changing work priorities in a fast-paced environment;

- Effective oral communication skills for providing information and assistance to internal and external customers; in person, over the telephone, and in writing;

- Skills to enter or lookup and retrieve data from multiple, related systems and databases;

- Ability to travel to and from worksites;

- Ability to work safely

 

 

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: 

High School Diploma or GED

Technical/other training

 

 

CERTIFICATES REQUIRED:  

The following licenses or certificates may be required depending on local, state and/or contract requirements:

Valid Driver's License

 

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:  

Employees must have the ability to perform the following physical demands for extended periods of time with or without assistance:

• Answering phone/making calls

• Maneuvering in and around the worksite

• May require sitting, standing, walking, walking on uneven surfaces

• Viewing computer screen

• Utilizing keyboard

• May lift or move boxes up to 25 pounds

• Communicating with others

 

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT:  

Work is performed primarily in an office environment with limited privacy and exposure to noise from others conducting business. May require driving to and from worksite locations. Employees may also be exposed to extreme cold or heat.
