POSITION SUMMARY: 
Under minimal direction, the Construction Program Manager is responsible for the management of all construction activities (in California) from project initiation to completion. Employees in this job class manage revenue pipeline(s), profit and loss and client satisfaction across multiple contracts. This job class requires In-depth understanding of the project management process and demonstrated ability to lead others through that process.  

 

 

TYPICAL DUTIES:
1. *Ensure compliance with customer/contract requirements for all project by proposed or executed by direct or indirect employees and subcontractors.
2. *Manage the production of projects in a systemic and programmatic manner that enables synergy between field operations staff, project management staff, engineering staff, administrative staff and corporate stakeholders.
3. *Supervises employees; ensures a competent, motivated team through hiring, training, development, counseling and reviewing the performance of employees.
4. *Develops and implements constructions programs in a manner that provides for consistent/repeatable results that satisfy customer requirements while building sustaining a brand of high-quality project management and performance. 
5. *Provides introspective and critical quality assessments on all aspects of the construction program to ensure the program is in a state of continual process improvement and refinement.
6. *Remains abreast of all market conditions affecting the construction market and pricing pressures. Strategizes with team and management to ensure the best actions possible given market conditions, and economic realities.
7.  Remains technically and professionally abreast of new and improving means and methods affecting the industry, and looks for ways to ensure that the company is well-placed to take advantage of new positions in the market.
8. *Develops, implements and trains all personnel on project management templates that serve as organizational process assets to the team, and help in growing organizational project management maturity of the team/firm.
9. *Actively manages the profit and loss of each construction project and maintains accurate and realistic financial forecasts for the use by management and corporate.
10.  Prepare various management reports as necessary.
11. Lead in the development of cost proposals for new construction opportunities, while coordinating with corporate stakeholders to ensure proper vetting of pricing methodologies and strategies are accepted.
12.  Performs other duties and special projects as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• Five years project management experience with other project management resources as direct reports;
• Project Management Professional (PMP); IFMA CFM, Contactors license preferred;
• Extensive knowledge and experience in all areas of construction project management from initiation to completion;
• Ability to estimate, schedule projects, and develop scope of work;
• Ability to work in CMMS System to manage work tasks across organization;
• Supervisory skills to hire qualified employees, provide for their professional development, administer performance management and disciplinary processes effectively, and address employee relations appropriately;
• Ability to effectively supervise and develop assigned team to meet production/service goals while adhering to safety policies and rules;
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; to make presentations and respond to inquiries by senior management, customers and/or employees;
• Demonstrated leadership, organizational, reasoning, problem solving and analytical skills;
• Exceptional customer service skills;
• Human relation skills to build effective relationships with team, customers and public;
• Advanced computer literacy including knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, database and presentation software;
• Knowledge of business English including vocabulary, spelling, and correct grammatical usage and punctuation;
• Mathematical skills to include the ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations;
• Ability to establish priorities and solve a wide range of business, operational and strategic management problems;
• Flexibility to respond to changing work priorities and handle numerous projects at the same time.

 

 

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelors in Construction or related field

 

 

CERTIFICATES OR LICENSES REQUIRED:

The following licenses or certificates may be required depending on local, state and/or contract requirements:

 

Valid Driver's License

 

 

PHYSICAL REQURIEMENTS: 

Employees must have the ability to perform the following physical demands for extended periods of time with or without assistance:

 

• Maneuvering to and around equipment
• Bending, kneeling, stooping and reaching
• Climbing stepstools or ladders
• Lifting and moving equipment weighing up to 25 pounds
• Transporting to various locations within customer site
• Monitoring computer systems
• Utilizing keyboard

 

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Work is performed in a normal office environment with limited privacy and some exposure to background noise.
