POSITION SUMMARY:
Under general supervision, the Machinery Maintenance Mechanic repairs machinery or mechanical/electrical equipment. Work involves most of the following: examining machines and mechanical equipment to diagnose source of trouble, dismantling or partly dismantling machines and performing repairs that mainly involve the use of hand tools in scraping and fitting parts. In general, the work of a Machinery Maintenance Mechanic requires rounded training and experience usually acquired through a formal apprenticeship or equivalent training and experience.
TYPICAL DUTIES:
1. *Examine gasoline, diesel, hydraulic and/or electric machines and mechanical equipment or devices, including overhead roll-up doors and electric motorized and/or mechanical gates, to diagnose source of trouble.
2. *Dismantle or partly dismantle machines/equipment/devices and perform repairs using hand and/or power tools.
3. *Make repairs that mainly involve the use of hand tools in scraping and fitting parts.
4. *Replace broken or defective parts.
5. *Perform repairs, in general, to overhead roll-up doors and electric motorized and/or mechanical gates.
6. *Order/Request replacement parts or send machine/equipment/devices to machine shop for major repairs.
7. *Reassemble machines/equipment/devices, making necessary adjustments for operation.
8. Prepare written specifications for major repairs or for production of parts ordered from a machine shop.
9. Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Requires rounded training and experience usually acquired through three years of experience in a formal apprenticeship program or equivalent training and experience.

CERTIFICATES OR LICENSES REQUIRED: The following licenses or certificates may be required depending on local, state and/or contract requirements:
Valid Driver's License
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Employees must have the ability to perform the following physical demands for extended periods of time with or without assistance:
• Maneuvering in and around equipment
• Bending, kneeling, stooping, reaching, crawling
• Pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 35 pounds
• May be required to climb ladders and/or step stools
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Work is performed at a customer’s location in office, shop, warehouse, or outdoor environment. May require driving to and from worksite locations. Equipment can be located in crawl spaces, rooftops, and outside facility. Employees may be exposed to hazardous and/or toxic substances, electrical shock, noise from equipment, and depending on external weather conditions, wind, rain, cold, and heat.
