POSITION SUMMARY:   

Under limited supervision, the Senior Business Data Analyst will design, develop, and implement business intelligence solutions for the organization, helping to build the infrastructure and tools required to support and improve business operations to achieve data reporting and analysis goals. This job class requires advanced knowledge of data consolidation and reporting software. Employees in this job class collaborate effectively with and support internal end-users, cross-functional software development teams, Database Administrators and Developers, and technical support teams to solve problems, implement new solutions, and deliver successfully against high operational standards of system availability and reliability. Main interfaces include the CIO direct reports, COO direct reports, and finance leadership.

 

 

TYPICAL DUTIES:  

1. * Develop, deploy, support and maintain datasets, reports and dashboards in Power BI to support business stakeholders with decision making.
2. * Publish reports via the Power BI service, managing them through distribution of apps and monitoring usage/data refreshes/security access.
3. * Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical specifications.
4. * Facilitate meetings to educate users on system functionality.
5. * Create and maintain documentation that includes the design, requirements, and user manuals for the organization.
6. * Assist in developing and executing ETL (Extract, Transform, and Load) processes using stored procedures and/or SSIS packages.
7. * Perform testing and ad-hoc data queries as needed.
8. * Perform quality audits to ensure data integrity.
9. Participates in management reviews.
10. Performs other duties and special projects as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 

· Three or more years of data analysis and reporting experience;
· Advanced skills in data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau;
· Intermediate to advanced skills in writing database queries (SQL Server, MySQL, etc.);
· Knowledgeable in database design and ETL processes;
· Strong analytical skills with the ability to organize, analyze, and distribute large amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy;
· Works effectively with business stakeholders in a collaborative environment;
· Effective oral and written communication skills using appropriate business English;
· Demonstrated organizational, common sense and problem-solving skills;
· Human relation skills to build effective relationships with team and customers;
· Effective customer service skills;
· Advanced computer literacy including knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, database and presentation software;
· Ability to establish priorities and solve operational problems;
· Flexibility to respond to changing work priorities and handle numerous projects at the same time.

 

 

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: 

Bachelors in Business Administration or related field

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:   

Employees must have the ability to perform the following physical demands for extended periods of time with or without assistance:
 
• Viewing computer screen/monitor
• Keyboarding

WORK ENVIRONMENT:  

Work is performed in a normal office environment with limited privacy and some exposure to background noise. If remote, work is performed in a home office environment. Employees may be required to work in excess of 8 hours in a day and/or 40 hours per week.
