Job: Work Control Specialist Lead

There are no direct reports with this position.

 

 

POSITION SUMMARY:   

Under general supervision, the Lead Work Control Specialist leads work teams, prioritizes, assigns, and coordinates daily staff activities. The lead Work Control Specialist receives, records, and distributes work orders to shops. Employees in this job class complete and process work orders, input comments, and records other data points into an electronic format following instructions and pre-established guidelines for PRIDE’s Enterprise Asset Management systems and the Government’s financial asset and accounting management system (whether or not the system of records is government based may be determined by contract/site). This job requires knowledge of basic office practices and procedures; and the ability to provide customer service, operate a computer keyboard, and assemble documents and data.

 

 

TYPICAL DUTIES:  

1. *Lead a work team, prioritize, assign, and coordinate daily staff activities.
2. *Train and assist workers in performing duties.
3. *Monitor progress of tasks and inspect completed work to ensure quality.
4. *Keep records of service calls and work orders, collect, review, and input data into a computer processing system; audit output data.
5. *Print documents from government system of records.
6. *Update service order activity including labor, materials, and other miscellaneous data.
7. *Contact and follow up with customer to insure satisfactory performance of service.
8. *Analyze information before entering data to ensure costs are within budget, logs are filled out correctly and receipts are coded accurately.
9. *Produce records and reports.
10. *May Schedule service calls, dispatch service crew, and relay messages and special instructions to mobile crews and other departments using email or telephone equipment.
11. Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 

•Must be able to obtain and maintain government Common Access Card (CAC) to access government systems;
•At least one year of related work experience;
•General office computer literacy including skill to operate word processing, spreadsheet, internet;
•Ability to multitask and work in a fast paced environment;
•Ability to train employees in proper practices and procedures;
•Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing, and to respond to questions from customers, management, and others.
•Ability to build effective working relationships with staff, customers, and others;
•Ability to follow organized, structured procedures to provide services to serve customers;
•Ability to compile, code, categorize, calculate, and verify information with attention to accuracy and detail;
•Fundamental mathematical ability including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division;
•Ability to act responsively to customer inquiries and requests and escalate appropriately;
•Ability to adapt to changing work priorities.

 

 

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: 

High School Diploma or GED

 

 

CERTIFICATES REQUIRED:  

The following licenses or certificates may be required depending on local, state and/or contract requirements:

 

Valid Driver's License

 

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:  

Employees must have the ability to perform the following physical demands for extended periods of
time with or without assistance:
 
•Maneuvering to and around equipment
•Utilizing keyboard
•Viewing computer/screens
•Communicating with others
•Bending, stooping, and reaching
•Lifting up to 25 pounds

 

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT:  

Work is primarily performed at a customer’s location in an office / shop environment with limited privacy and some exposure to background noise and/or noise from equipment. Transporting to locations with the work site may be required. Employees may also be exposed to extreme cold or heat.
