POSITION SUMMARY:
Under general supervision, The HVAC (Heating, Ventilating, and Air Conditioning) II technician performs skilled technical work in the maintenance, repair, replacement, and installation of HVAC/R equipment to include: furnaces, chillers, heat pumps, package units, split systems, controls and distribution systems, and tasks related to installing, maintaining and repairing boilers, power plants, and stationary engines.
TYPICAL DUTIES:
1. *Installs, troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains various mechanical and HVAC equipment.
2. *Cuts and bends tubing to correct length and shape.
3. *Utilizes skills in plumbing, mechanical, electrical, HVAC and refrigeration systems.
4. *Observes pressure and vacuum gauges and adjusts controls to ensure proper operation.
5. *Tests joints and connections for gas leaks.
6. *Wraps pipes in insulation batting and secures them in place.
7. *Replaces defective controls, fuses and electrical wiring to repair installed units.
8. *Tends to or fires one or more boilers to produce steam or high-temperature water.
9. *Observes and interprets readings and gauges, meters and charts which register various aspects of boiler operation.
10. *Adjusts controls to ensure safe and efficient boiler operation and to meet demands for steam or high-temperature water.
11. *Maintains and records boiler maintenance and operation log.
12. *Cleans, oils, makes minor repairs, or assists in the repair to boiler room equipment.
13. *Follows prescribed methods to treat boiler water with chemicals.
14. *Follows prescribed methods to analyze boiler water for acidity, causticity and alkalinity.
15. *Responds to emergency calls after normal work hours.
16. *Frequent travel between facilities is required.
17. *Ensures PRIDE safety policies and procedures are followed.
18. *Performs other duties and special projects as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• Knowledge of and understanding of Energy Management Controls Systems
• Three to five years of field experience servicing HVAC equipment
• Able to use industry hand and machine tools (i.e. vacuum pumps)
• Ability to read, interpret and work from blueprints, schematics and written instructions
• Proficient in electrical trouble shooting

R410A Safety
Valid Driver's License
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Employees must have the ability to perform the following physical demands for extended periods of time with or without assistance:
• Maneuvering to, in, and around equipment
• Bending, kneeling, stooping and reaching
• Climbing stepstools or ladders.
• Lifting and moving heavy equipment up to 35 pounds
• Climbing ladders to gain access to rooftop equipment
• Monitoring computer systems and control displays
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Work is performed at a customer’s location in office, shop, warehouse, or outdoor environment. May require driving to and from worksite locations. Equipment can be located in crawl spaces, rooftops, and outside facility. Employees may be exposed to hazardous and/or toxic substances, electrical shock, noise from equipment, and depending on external weather conditions, wind, rain, cold, and heat.
