There are no direct reports with this position.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Under general supervision, the Supply Technician performs limited aspects of technical supply management related to depot, local or other supply activities. Work usually is segregated by commodity area or function, and controlled in terms of difficulty, complexity, or responsibility. Assignments usually relate to stable or standardized segments of technical supply management operations; or to functions or subjects that are narrow in scope or limited in difficulty. The work generally involves individual case problems or supply actions. This work may require consideration of program requirements together with specific variations in or from standardized guidelines.
TYPICAL DUTIES:
1. *Maintain supplies, stock, equipment and fleet to ensure proper operation and safe condition.
2. *Prepare records and reports as needed using appropriate forms or spreadsheet software.
3. *Investigate discrepancies and report them to management, recommending improvements to resolve issues.
4. *Maintain a good working relationship with coworkers and customers.
5. *Safe and proper use of products, equipment and fleet to meet quality and safety standards.
6. *Performs aspects of technical supply management work including but not limited to inventory management, storage management, cataloging, and property utilization related to depot, local or other supply activities.
7. *Analyze, define or recognize the complexity of problems, collect necessary data to establish facts, and take recommended action based on established guidelines.
8. *Safely operate forklift, pallet jack and hand-truck.
9. *Transports and delivers a variety of supplies and equipment to work site.
10. *Tracks and maintains service records of vehicles and equipment.
11. Performs other duties and special projects as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• At least one year of related work experience;
• Working knowledge of the governing supply systems, programs, policies, nomenclature, work methods, manuals or other established guidelines;
• Ability to maintain a safe driving record;
• Ability to work safely and properly use tools and equipment;
• An understanding of facilities maintenance operational guidelines related to supplies;
• Analytical ability to define or recognize the dimension of the problems involved, to collect the necessary data to establish the facts, and take or recommend action based upon application or interpretation of established guidelines;
• Ability to communicate effectively and respond to questions and requests from team, customers and others;
• Effective written communication skills using appropriate business English;
• Human relations skills to maintain effective working relationships with team;
• Effective customer service skills;
• Intermediate computer literacy including knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, database and presentation software;
• Basic mathematical ability including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division;
• Demonstrated customer service, problem solving and common sense skills.

This position requires the ability to have and maintain sufficient strength, agility and endurance to perform during stressful (physical, mental, and emotional) situations encountered on the job without compromising the employee’s health and well-being or that of their co-workers or inmates.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
High School Diploma or GED
Technical/other training
CERTIFICATES OR LICENSES REQUIRED:
The following licenses or certificates may be required depending on local, state and/or contract requirements:
Valid Driver's License
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Employees must have the ability to perform the following physical demands for extended periods of time with or without assistance:
• Viewing computer screens
• Using a keyboard
• Climbing, sitting, and twisting to operate a forklift
• Lifting or moving boxes or equipment up to 35 pounds
• Climbing and/or working from high platforms and/or ladders
• Ability to operate a pallet jack and hand-truck
• Ability to communicate with coworkers and customers
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Work is performed in a prison healthcare facility with specialized needs for security and environmental control. Employees may be required to work confined space, and in aseptic areas with exposure to dirt, dust, odors, toxic chemicals, and infectious disease; and will work in high security areas with protocols. Employees may also be exposed to, depending on the weather, elements such as wind, rain, cold, and heat.
