Job Description

Truck Driver-Medium

 

The Truck driver drives a truck to transport materials, merchandise, equipment, or workers between various types of establishments such as: manufacturing plants, freight depots, warehouses, wholesale and retail establishments, or between retail establishments and customers’ houses or places of business. This driver may also load or unload truck with or without helpers, make minor mechanical repairs, and keep truck in good working order.

Straight truck, 1 1/2 to 4 tons inclusive, usually 6 wheels.

 

Responsibilities include but may not be limited to the following:

1.  Operate a medium-sized truck to transport materials and finished products to and from local destinations based on a daily schedule.
2.  Perform material handling functions when not transporting product.  This includes loading, unloading, storing and organizing products and materials and transferring where needed acccording to production and distribution activities.
3.  Perform minor mechanical repairs and maintenance.
4.  Perform other tasks and special projects as assigned

 

Qualifications:

1.  Five (5) plus year of experience driving 1 - 4 ton trucks with 6 wheels
2.  A Class  B license may be required
