POSITION SUMMARY:   

Under general supervision, the Lean Sigma Community of Practice Program Manager is passionate about process improvement and coaching others, with a strong ability to motivate colleagues to practice continuous improvement and collaborate, to maximize efficiency within the organization. This job requires experience with Six Sigma concepts and the ability to train others on process improvement techniques throughout the organization.

 

 

TYPICAL DUTIES:  

1. *Create and maintain a Lean Sigma Community of Practice, including a recommended curriculum, leveraging of skillsets of colleagues interested and available to participate.
2. *Teach/coach continuous improvement Six Sigma concepts (i.e., DMAIC, Design for Six Sigma, Lean), encouraging a culture of problem solving and customer focus, realizing on-going improvements and cultural change.
3. *Serve as a resource to guide colleagues and teams with Lean knowledge and change management methodologies,
4. *Look after the Community, offering a welcoming and productive environment that helps people focus, trust one another, collaborate to achieve business goals, exchange knowledge, and discover best practices together.
5. *Be a liaison between the Community and the organization, earning respect of colleagues by productively managing conflict to overcome organizational resistance to change, where it may occur.
6 *Provide additional training and coaching for colleagues to prepare for the Green Belt Certification exam.
7. *Identify and manage cross-functional Lean projects through discovery, design, and implementation.
8. *Facilitate and lead Kaizen and Rapid Process Improvement events, and DMAIC projects.
9. *Lead change management activities for successful implementation, including Control phase to measure and communicate improvement results.
10. *Develop and effectively communicate business case scenarios, benefits, and outcomes with leadership.
11. *Build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the organization to influence and deliver results.
12. Performs other duties and special projects as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 

· Direct experience in the application of a variety of continuous improvement, Six Sigma, Lean and Kaizen philosophies with the ability to explain core concepts proficiently. Direct experience leading/implementing DMAIC, Design for Six Sigma, or Lean improvements, inclusive of organizational change management strategies preferred;
· Functional experience in operations, preferably in a manufacturing or packaging environment.
· Experience creating a continuous improvement strategy for an organization or business unit, training or coaching Lean methodologies, and/or leading high-performing teams.
· Experience facilitating and redesigning business processes that showed improved cycle time, cost, or quality process measures.
· intermediate level of proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint;
· Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; to make presentations and respond to inquiries by management, team, vendors and/or customers;
· Human relation skills to build effective relationships with team and internal customers;
· Knowledge of business English including vocabulary, spelling, and correct grammatical usage and punctuation;
· Mathematical skills to include the ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations;
· Ability to establish priorities and solve a wide range of business problems;
· Willingness to build and maintain effective working relationships with peers
· Demonstrated customer service, common sense, problem solving and analytical skills;
· Flexibility to respond to changing work priorities and handle numerous projects at the same time.

 

 

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: 

Bachelors Business Administration or related field
A comparable combination of formal education and work experience will be considered.

 

 

CERTIFICATES REQUIRED:  

The following licenses or certificates may be required depending on local, state and/or contract requirements:
Lean Six Sigma Black Belt
Lean Six Sigma Green Belt

 

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:  

Employees must have the ability to perform the following physical demands for extended periods of time with or without assistance:
 
• Viewing computer screen/monitor
• Keyboarding
• Answering phone/making calls

 

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT:  

Work is performed in a normal office environment with limited privacy and some exposure to background noise/home office environment. Employees may be required to work in excess of 8 hours in a day and/or 40 hours per week.
